Carrowmore Archery open day poster
The volunteers at Carrowmore Archery are looking forward to welcoming people of all abilities to our open day on Sunday the 15th of June.
We are running 1 hour beginners archery classes starting at 11am with the last class beginning at 4pm (to end at 5pm roughly).
Who can have a go?
Anyone who can pull a 15 pound bow. So a fairly strong eight year old child would be grand. There is no upper age limit so granddad and grandma can try too!
Do we need to bring anything?
We supply all the necessary equipment but you might want to bring a picnic or some sausages for the barbecue.
Free tea and coffee facilities and toilet available.
How much will it cost?
€15 euro or €10 for members of the Disability Group.
This event is being held in co-operation with Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership as part of Sligo being awarded “European Town of Sport 2014” and to bring together all those who come to the Club on a regular basis from the Sports Disability Group plus anyone else who wishes to ‘Have a Go’
We will have fully trained Instructors at the event and have a weather proof training area, so don’t be put off if it is raining. Each session will last for about 1 hour and the prices include all equipment and insurance.

We had a great have-a-go session tonight with some improvers and a few new faces. Twelve altogether carefully overseen by David, Tony and myself. It was rewarding to see the repeat customers making a steady improvement and the first timers enjoying the challenge!
Tony uses The Force.
Safe from the midges in here!
Practising outdoors enjoying, or rather being enjoyed by, the midgies.
Some repellant might have been a good idea? Luckily the archers rose above such a minor irritation.
It was not really this dark just a too fast shutter speed.
I had a remotely triggered camera set up to safely take a few pictures from in front of the shooting line. Just in case you thought I was standing in front of the archers!
